Mediums of Cassadaga

Mediums of Cassadaga: “The Psychic Capital of the World” is an intimate look into a community that was established in 1894 as a southern meeting place for members of the Spiritualist religion. Described as a science, philosophy and religion, a core belief is that the life-force energy within us creates a consciousness, and when the physical body falls away this energy returns to a higher level of existence.

Certified mediums communicate with those in spirit to bring guidance and comfort to those still living. One-on-one interviews of 16 mediums share their personal philosophies, their beginnings and how they conduct readings.
Along with the mediums’ interviews, there is information about the community’s founding and some of its history.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Cassadaga, Florida, was included for Exploration/Settlement and Religion. The Register also pointed out its architectural styles of Late 19th- and 20th-Century Revival.
